About Amanda

I bring a unique blend of business background and research/design skills to the projects I work on.  I enjoy what I do and like working with others that have the same passions and desire to create experiences that are delightful and intuitive for the user.

Working at several of the agencies in the Seattle area has allowed me to work on a variety of projects and teams.  I thrive when I have the opportunity to work on a project through its entire design lifecycle with a design and dev team that collaborates throughout the whole process.

In the last couple of years, I have started to focus more of my work on accessibility and inclusive design. As a UX designer, empathy for the user is at the center of our discipline. I realized I had focused my attention unknowingly on a narrow range of users - those that could see, hear and had full cognitive and motor abilities; and not looked at the full spectrum of abilities. While I continue to learn more, I also seek to bring awareness by asking questions and becoming an advocate for all users.

As for the life in the work/life balance equation; I enjoy traveling and being a foodie with my family.  I find exploration fuels my desire to continuously learn and broaden my horizons.  This is fundamental in the way I approach new projects since I'm always seeking to broaden my skill set and to learn from others. I am also an active volunteer in the youth soccer community and sit on the executive board for our local soccer club.
