Search Results Page
Overview
This project aimed to redesign the hotel search experience to support both user needs and business objectives. While the goal was to display all hotels within a given area, we needed to strategically highlight properties within our partner network to increase visibility and bookings. The challenge was to find a solution that promoted priority listings without compromising usability or diminishing trust in the overall experience.
Process
I conducted a competitive and comparative audit to identify best-in-class examples of search results that integrated maps and list views. Based on these insights, I compiled key recommendations and presented them to primary stakeholders, helping guide a collective decision on the project scope.
To align cross-functional perspectives early, I facilitated a brainstorming session with representatives from customer service, marketing, and engineering. These conversations helped surface initial ideas, technical constraints, and business goals, which I then translated into wireframes that were shared with stakeholders for feedback and alignment.
Gather Hoteliers Feedback
To gather feedback on the new search functionality, I developed high-fidelity wireframes to evaluate whether they aligned with the needs of our hotel partners and to surface any potential concerns. A key requirement was ensuring that properties in the Stash collection were featured more prominently than other listings. At the same time, I prioritized delivering an optimal user experience—recognizing that if the design fell short, it could negatively impact user retention.
